There is no "cure" for chickenpox because they will go away on their own with itch cream, staying hydrated, taking pain killers, and even some medication that a doctor can suggest. Though in 1995 scientists and doctors made a vaccine to give to babies, children, teens, and adults to help prevent getting chickenpox. This decreased the numbers of children getting the chickenpox, but if someone who got the vaccine still got chickenpox it would be a mild version and not very severe. It is suggested to get two doses at different ages to be more protected. With this vaccine you are protecting yourself and others around you from getting this irritating, uncomfortable virus. So stay away from people who may have symptoms or does have chickenpox so you will not come in contact with this virus. If you or your child has chickenpox keep away from others until the bumps have burst and crusted over, it is no longer contagious at this point.
